The School of Interdisciplinary Studies offers several scholarships for high school, undergraduate and graduate students. Each scholarship has specific requirements based on the purpose of the scholarship. The amount of the awards may vary from year-to-year and are awarded by a committee. Please read the criteria and requirements carefully to ensure you meet the qualifications.

For the 2021-2022 academic year, please complete and submit an online application for the intended scholarships. The submission deadline is 11:59PM (central time) on April 18th, 2021. Applications received after this deadline will not be considered.

Other scholarships may be available through the UTD Office of Financial Aid.

Philip Allen Teacher Development Endowed Scholarship

The Philip Allen Teacher Development Scholarship is open to students enrolled at UT Dallas, pursuing certification through the Teacher Development Center, and participating in a clinical/student teaching experience during the semester the scholarship is awarded. The scholarship is intended to ease the burden of the unpaid clinical/student teaching experience. Selection is made on the basis of financial need. One $1,000 tuition and fee scholarship may be awarded per year. This scholarship is open to both undergraduate and graduate students. Contact the Teacher Development Center at 972-883-2730 to apply.

Frances Jean Eichorst Endowed Scholarship

The Frances Jean Eichorst Scholarship is open to currently enrolled undergraduate students in the Academic Bridge Program who demonstrate commitment to personal and professional success based on academic merit and financial need.  Preference will be given to students who are enrolled in at least 12 hours. One $1000 tuition and fee scholarship will be awarded per academic year.

The Galerstein Endowed Scholarship is open to currently enrolled undergraduate students in the School of Interdisciplinary Studies who demonstrate financial need and academic merit. Academic potential may be considered. Two $1,000 tuition and fee awards per year may be given. This scholarship is open to undergraduate students only.

The Neila Skinner Petrick and Thomas W. Petrick Endowed Scholarship for the School of Interdisciplinary Studies is open to currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students in the School of Interdisciplinary Studies who demonstrate financial need and academic merit. Academic potential may be considered. One $1,000 tuition and fee award per year may be given.

The Ram Lal Seekri Scholarship for the School of Interdisciplinary Studies is open to Academic Bridge Program undergraduate students.  This scholarship is open to all majors. Selection will be made on the basis of financial need (as determined by the Financial Aid Office) and academic merit.  Academic potential may be considered.  One $1,000 tuition & fee scholarship will be awarded on a competitive basis by committee for the 2020-21 academic year.

Van Amburgh Endowed Scholarship

The Van Amburgh Scholarship is open to incoming or currently enrolled undergraduate students in the School of Interdisciplinary Studies who demonstrate financial need and academic merit. Applicants must be enrolled or plan to enroll full time (at least 12 credit hours per semester). Four $1,000 awards will be given. This scholarship is open to undergraduate students only.

DeFrank Endowed Scholarship

The DeFrank Scholarship is open to current UT Dallas undergraduate students in good standing with the Academic Bridge Program.  This scholarship shall be used to assist with the cost of participation in any study abroad program approved by UT Dallas for one student in the Academic Bridge Program. Selection will be made on the basis of academic merit.  One $1,000 scholarships will be awarded on a competitive basis by committee for the 2020-21 academic year.
